MEMBERSHIP OF THE DIRECTORS GUILD

Which types of membership does the Directors Guild offer?

Associate membership of the Directors Guild Trust is open to everyone connected to or interested in the craft of directing; this incudes dance, film, multimedia, opera, radio, television and theatre.  Reduced price Student membership is available, as is Group membership for educational institutions teaching or with a with a close interest in directing. We welcome applications from industry and other bodies to become Corporate Members of the Trust.

Professional membership of the Trust is for working directors in any medium, who may then become voting members of the Directors Guild of Great Britain CIC Ltd., the working arm of the Trust, and have access to advice and other more specific benefits. You need to have two verifiable professional credits for professional membership, but if you can't yet fulfil the criteria you can still join and get all the other publications, benefits and discounts the Guild can provide.

What are the benefits of joining the Directors Guild?

Our members range across all media, creating unparalleled knowledge, skill and experience to share - joining the Guild will make you a part of a very special community of artists. The Directors Guild is the only cross-media directors organisation in the UK - and the only other organisation in the world that spans live and recorded media in this way is in Sweden. By helping us promote and share our experience and skills, we can better our work and develop new talents. By celebrating our work, we can recognise and reward our peers and our profession and raise the profile of British directing both home and abroad, resulting in greater understanding for our craft, greater respect and, hopefully, better remuneration.

CONTACTING OUR MEMBERS

How do I contact members of the Guild?

If you email or write care of the Guild office, we will always forward legitimate messages to members. Some of our members have asked us not to do this, so if we are unable to forward your mail we will tell you why if you provide a return address.
